Oral Talks

Most of the oral talks at the main conference are scheduled for 12 minutes, plus 3 minutes Q/A (the Doctoral Symposium is an exception, as you can see in the full program). Please stick to this strict time limit, so that we can start end end our sessions on time.
Access the program in ClearEvent (app download recommended).

Online Poster Presenters

We will hold an online poster session for attendees who can not attend in person. This will take place on 12th June at 17:00 BST. For this we kindly ask you to prepare the following items:

  • A PDF version of your poster in portrait orientation. We will then make the posters available to all conference participants via the conference website and online poster session.
  • A 3-5-minute video presenting your work. The video should be in MP4 format. The idea here is to provide an opportunity for delegates to get to know your work. You may use slides if you wish in preparing this video.

Please upload your details using this online poster form. On this form, we ask you to select your paper from the dropdown list and then send us two URLs (links to an online cloud storage service), one to download the PDF poster and one to download the video. We will then download these videos and PDFs on 1 June and create the online poster session.

Physically Present Posters

The physical poster session on 11th June (from 17:00 to 18:30 Thailand time). Associated with this poster session will be a poster-boaster session that will immediately precede the poster session. This will facilitate a rapid-fire sequence of 1 minute talks from all physically present poster presenters. For this we kindly ask you, or one of your co-authors, to prepare a one-slide PPT that can be delivered by whoever from your team is on-site at ICMR. This slide should be presented within one minute using this PPT template. Please populate this PPT file and send it back to icmr2024@gmail.com by email. We will then collate these slides in A-Z order and have them ready for you to present at the poster-boaster session. We kindly ask you to send us the one-slide by 1 June. For the poster session, please note that we will be providing A1 portrait sized posterboards, so print and bring your posters to fit this size.

Demos and Reproducibility Papers

The physically present demo session is combined with the reproducibility session and will take place on 11th June (from 17:00 to 18:30). Demos will have a table and space for an A1 portrait poster. Associated with this demo session will be a poster-boaster session that will immediately precede the demo session. This will facilitate a rapid-fire sequence of 1 minute talks from all physically present demo presenters.

Practical Tips for Conference Delegates

Phuket International Airport is about 30 minutes by car from the conference hotel. You may be able to ask your hotel to arrange a transfer for you, but if not, you have the option of a taxi. There are taxis outside of the arrivals hall (follow the signs). You may also use a service such as klook.com to book and pre-pay for a driver who will be waiting for you on your arrival. Typical costs for these transfers is €15-20. There are many different routes that the drivers can take, some on main roads and some across countryside. Since Phuket is a tourist destination, there are many opportunities at the airport to withdraw cash or exchange cash into local Thai currency. Also, credit cards are widely used. For those who are staying in the conference hotel, there is a small supermarket (Tops market) and an outdoor food court (nighttime only) just outside the entrance to the hotel. There is also a tour guide desk in the lobby for delegates who wish to book tourist activities. There is no provision of poster printing on-site, so please remember to bring a poster with you if you will be presenting a poster or demo.
