Multimedia is a highly diverse discipline, a encompass of data types, research applications, research problems, approaches are integrated and implicated. Researchers in the domain get from very different specialties, applications ranging from digital health, transportation, energy, prediction, and discovery from different application domains. I will talk about how my research group could apply recent multimedia technologies into these importance of diversities fields.
BIO:
Professor Phoebe Chen is Professor and Chair at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, La Trobe University, Melbourne Australia. Phoebe received her PhD from the University of Queensland. Professor Chen has been doing multi-discipline researches for more than 20 years. She has been working in many emerging areas such as bioinformatics, multimedia, artificial intelligence, scientific visualization, and pattern recognition. She has published over 280 research papers, many of them appeared in top journals and conferences. She is the SIGMM Vice Chair. She has been an associate editor for many top journals including IEEE Transaction on Multimedia and IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. She is steering committee chair of Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference (founder) and International conference on Multimedia Modelling. She has been on the program committees of over 100 international conferences, including top ranking conferences such as ACMMM, AAAI, IJCAI, ICDE, ICPR, ISMB, CIKM etc.
